Volunteer Work
Our volunteers dedicate time and energy to improve the lives of people affected by various conditions that affect ethnic minority communities.
Our volunteers are essential to everything we do. You're Samec’s face in the local community. You rise money to fund services that help us save more lives. No matter how much time you have available, you can make a difference to the lives of people.
Whether you're interested in coordinating or managing local volunteers or collections, office administration, marketing and communications, events or in becoming a SAMEC speaker, there are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved with.

This is feedback from one of our dedicated volunteers Sipelile.
“ Working as a volunteer for Samec Trust has introduced me to new experiences. I have come across people of different backgrounds, races and religion. What I have learned from this is when it comes to health, we all speak the same language and that is we want to stay healthy and if sick want to get better.
There are so many different avenues of making the community be knowledgeable about the services that are out there for them and working with Samec Trust has shown me that is so easy to communicate with the community through various podiums, like the newsletter that is sent out to more than 15 thousand people and the signposting services were people can call in and know that there is a helping hand at the other end of the line.
I am normally someone who looks on and never speaks up but with their outreach groups they carry out ever so often, I have become more confident when speaking because of the outreach meetings they regularly hold.
Samec Trust, saving lives is paramount and other than a hospital, Samec trust this is one of the best places to empower yourself with important information on health. The best thing about them is the Samec Trust team; I have never come across such a lively and positive people.
I have learnt so much in terms of confidence and developing new skills such as public speaking, administration skills and the fact that all my work is contributing to helping people, makes this voluntary role even more special.”
Volunteering is a great way to develop your skills, meet new people and work as part of an enthusiastic team, we will provide support, training and mentoring.
